Re:Your article, “Protect Yourself, Loved Ones from Financial Abuse of the Elderly”
Dear Mr. McCormally,
NAFA shares your concern to protect all consumers, especially the elderly, who all too often are the victim of fraud. It is troubling, however, that the only financial products you specifically identify as a “potential peril” are annuities and you direct the reader to an article written over a year ago about fixed indexed annuities. Yet there is no mention of stocks, bonds, and mutual funds despite the millions of dollars that perish in the market or disappear at the hands of fraudulent marketers like Bernie Madoff.
